Tulime, Tulunde, Tufune Agro Expo Showcases Opportunities in BSF Farming

The Tulime, Tulunde, Tufune Agro Expo organised by Sanyuka TV brought together people with one common goal: finding practical ways to make farming more profitable and sustainable.

What happens when farmers, innovators, and agribusinesses gather in one place? Ideas are tested, partnerships are built, and solutions come to life.

That is exactly what happened at the Tulime, Tulunde, Tufune Agro Expo organised by Sanyuka TV. The event brought together people with one common goal: finding practical ways to make farming more profitable and sustainable.

Ento Organic Farm was proud to take part, sharing how Black Soldier Fly (BSF) technology is helping solve two of Uganda’s big challenges at the same time: organic waste management and the high cost of agricultural production.

A Growing Waste Problem That Needs New Thinking

Uganda produces tonnes of organic waste daily from homes, markets, restaurants, food processing industries, and farms. Much of this waste ends up in landfills where it pollutes the environment, increases greenhouse gas emissions, and poses public health concerns.

At the same time, farmers across the country are facing a different challenge. Animal and poultry feed prices continue to rise, making livestock production more expensive. Many crop farmers are also struggling with declining soil fertility, reducing crop yields and increasing the cost of production.

These may seem like separate problems, but they are closely connected. What if the waste we throw away could become part of the solution?

Turning Waste Into Value Through Circular Agriculture

At Ento Organic Farm, we believe waste is not the end of the story. It is the beginning of something valuable.

Using Black Soldier Fly technology, we convert organic waste into high-quality insect protein for poultry, pigs, and fish, while the residue is transformed into organic fertilizer that helps improve soil health.

Instead of allowing organic waste to become an environmental burden, we give it a second life. This is the power of the circular economy.

Sharing Knowledge Beyond the Exhibition Stand

The expo was an opportunity for us to do more than showcase our products. Our team spent time engaging with farmers, entrepreneurs, and participants who wanted to understand how Black Soldier Fly farming works and why it is gaining attention across Uganda.

Many were surprised to learn that one small insect can help reduce waste, lower feed costs, improve soil fertility, and support climate-friendly farming practices all at once.

Every question asked was an opportunity to introduce someone to a solution they had never considered before.

Why Every Farmer Should Consider Black Soldier Fly Farming

One of the highlights of the expo was participating in a panel discussion focused on practical solutions for the future of agriculture.

During the discussion, we explored why Black Soldier Fly farming is becoming one of the most practical enterprises farmers can adopt today.

It is easy to start on a small scale, fits well alongside existing farming activities, and creates multiple benefits from a single process.

For farmers, it means lower feed costs and healthier soils.
For communities, it means less organic waste ending up in landfills.
For the country, it means moving closer to a more resilient and sustainable agricultural system.

Black Soldier Fly farming is a smarter way of managing resources while creating value at every stage.

The Conversations That Inspired Us

One of the most rewarding moments during the expo was watching the curiosity of participants who stopped by our exhibition stand turn into excitement.

They left with fresh ideas, new knowledge, and a different way of looking at organic waste. Those conversations are what make events like this worthwhile.

Building Partnerships for Greater Impact

Creating a circular economy cannot be achieved by a single person. It requires collaboration between farmers, businesses, government, development partners, researchers, and communities.

We are grateful to Pelum Uganda and O-Farm for making our participation at the Tulime, Tulunde, Tufune Agro Expo possible.

Their support continues to strengthen efforts to promote practical farming solutions that improve livelihoods while protecting the environment.

Looking Ahead

As Uganda continues to search for smarter ways to feed a growing population, reduce waste, and protect natural resources, circular agriculture will play an increasingly important role.

Black Soldier Fly technology is proving that some of our biggest challenges can become our greatest opportunities when we begin to see waste differently.

At Ento Organic Farm, we remain committed to helping farmers, businesses, and communities embrace solutions that create lasting value for people, agriculture, and the environment.

Because the future of farming is not only about producing more. It is about wasting less, creating more value, and building a cleaner, greener, and more profitable Uganda.
